Surrey Festival of Musical Theatre and the Arts (SFMT) is an event run by The Theatre Rocket in collaboration with The Broadwater School. The Festival was established in 2020 and is continuing to evolve to meet the needs of young performers seeking a performance platform. SFMT is an annual festival hosting categories in Musical Theatre, Speech and Drama, Dance and Art competitions for all ages and abilities.

The Theatre Rocket is the ‘controller’ of the personal data you provide to us for your entries into SFMT. We have defined and made available our Privacy Policy in order to be compliant with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) effective from 25th May 2018. The Theatre Rocket will only collect and record basic personal data about annual SFMT competition entrants and adjudicators.

The basic information we hold is Performer Name, Performer Date of Birth, Home Address, Contact details of their Parent/Guardian (phone and email), If the Performer is a child (of school years 1 to 13), the Name of the Performer’s responsible Teacher / Parent / Guardian.

In addition to the above Data, we may also request a Performer Biography and details of their School / Performing Arts Training Establishment for inclusion in the SFMT Programme.

Your Personal Data is collected to enable SFMT to build the Festival Programme in the most efficient and Professional way possible. The data you provide allows us to create our Timetable for the event and effectively inform all Performers of the Information. This includes the need to inform entrants of Class Timetables, confirm details relating to Classes and/or entrants, as well as any changes to the Programme. We will also contact Performers after the event to inform of further SFMT dates and Winners who may be invited to perform again at our celebratory event. Information is also used to maintain the SFMT accounts and records. We will not collect any personal data from you that it does not specifically need.

Personal Data provided to Theatre Rocket for SFMT Performers will be processed by The Theatre Rocket Directors and the SFMT Committee. No third parties will have access to your Personal Data unless there is a legal obligation to provide it. Reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that all Personal Data will be stored securely and held for no longer than 3 years, unless you inform the SFMT Committee of your wish for it to be deleted sooner.
